Latency Analyst – High Frequency
Up to $120K
This role will have primary responsibility for review and analysis of information related to various performance metrics collected across the enterprise. The individual in this position will be working with a wide variety of data and will require a solid understanding of the technical foundations supplying the metrics, strong basic statistical skills, and excellent reasoning. The candidate will provide analytical results to traders, back-office, exchanges, and technology teams.
Responsibilities:
-Identify and document sources of latency/performance related data.
-Provide statistical analysis of latency data along with impact/resolution details.
-Interact directly with traders to communicate potential issues.
-Proactively address any visible issues with relevant groups within the firm.
-Define, document, and implement new practices to expand the analytical process.
-Monitor latency/performance metrics for deviation, and report such changes across enterprise.
Qualifications:
-Excellent inferential reasoning.
-Strong basic statistical skills using R (preferred), Matlab, or Excel Stats-pack.
-Fundamental database skills (SQL).
-Experience constructing visual charts/graphs.
-Functional ability to work in a UNIX/Linux environment.
-Programming experience in Python (preferred), Perl, Java, C, C++ or some other modern language.
-Knowledge of TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
-Understanding of computing systems in a distributed, networked environment.
-Ability to work independently.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Enthusiasm for a fast-paced environment.
-B.S. in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or Mathematics.
-Previous experience with TCP/IP networking in a UNIX/Linux environment
-Previous scripting experience with Python, Perl or other programming/scripting language.
-Experience generating statistical reports including generation of graphical output.
